Adding an second hard drive problem
-
I have a RLK16-810B8-A system which came with a 3TB Seagate HD. So I bought a 6TB Western Digital Purple WD62PURZ drive to add to it to increase the storage. I followed the instructions from the knowledge base article on how to add a second drive internally and it does not appear to be working. If I understood the directions correctly all you have to do is basically open the system up, mount the drive, plug it in, close it up and boot up. This I did. When I got in it appeared as though the drive was not formatted so I clicked on format. It formatted the drive, said "success" and looked like it was good to go.
But now when I check it, it looks like it is just not recording to that drive. Why not? It fills up the default 3TB drive it came with and then starts overwriting that drive rather moving on to the newer larger drive. Why? What am I doing wrong? -
