I'm looking at installing a RLC-410WS to monitor the back of our property using the motion detection feature. If I decide to install a complete system in the future it would be POE, would it be possible to attack this camera to a POE system that included a NVR in the future? I don't have the money to install a complete system at this time so the Wi-Fi camera is the best option right now but I would like to buy something that's upgradable in the future.
Our PoE NVR supports all of our IP camera products including PoE camera and WiFi camera(except the RLC-210W which will only work with the Wi-Fi NVR). So yes, you can buy a wifi camera now and attach it to the PoE NVR in the future.
Hello, the Wi-Fi camera will communicate to a POE NVR, the network topology is shown as below:When the camera is on the same network as the NVR, the NVR will detect the camera and you can connect then together.
Thanks, and answered my question perfectly!
Just to be clear though, the RLC-410S cannot function as a POE camera, correct? Meaning I cannot disable the wireless radio, remove the power supply and plug it into a POE switch and expect it to be powered, can I?
Hi, RLC-410S is a PoE camera. You can remove the power supply and plug it into a PoE switch. But it is not wireless camera.
Sorry, I meant to specify RLC-410WS. This cannot be connected as a POE camera and receive power over the ethernet cable, correct?
