With the new batteries that were shipped with my Argus camera, I only got 20 days in standby mode before getting a low battery alert. The battery log showed the camera had a total less than 21 minutes of on time during those 20 days. Reolink claims the Argus camera should get 4 to 6 months in mostly standby mode, out of these batteries.Anyone else having the same issue?
I'm having the same problem, this is going to cost a fortune in batteries I have this sinking feeling, I only got about 23 days in standby, not really sure what I'm going to do now
I already went through 8 batteries. I was confused about how to set up the camera so it went to stand by so for the first 2 days I had live stream active. I've had to play around with the camera and settings to test the best practice for conserving battery life. Otherwise I'll go broke buying batteries.
One more thing. If I have the client running on PC and my mobile phone, does that affect the battery? The mobile status is CLOSED but the client on the PC says it's logged on.
My camera died tonight after only 22 days in standby mode. So lets see, the batteries cost $2 a piece, that's $8 per camera every 22 days, that's about $286 a year per camera...and I have 5 cameras so these things will cost me $1,430 a year! Makes me wonder if Reolink properly tested the Argus. And don't get me started on how weak the audible alarm is, not anywhere as loud as their video makes it sound.
Yikes I haven't tried the alarm out yet as I thought it was going to be too loud, will turn those on tomorrow and see what it's like. I'm not happy at all with the battery life, I will also go broke buying that many batteries every month for 6 cameras. I know that rechargeable don't last as long but I'm going to try it out of budget self defence???
They also should have put a battery cutoff switch on the camera, so I wouldn't have to take the batteries out to stop them from draining, like for times when I'm home.
Definitely agree with that, there needs to be some way other than disabling the PIR to shut these things down when at home.
I can't get more than 2 to 3 days of battery use, in standby mode!!! I agree that the battery life wasn't tested properly or we were mislead. I can't afford to use the camera!! Ugh!
Hey guys,Would you please contact our support at https://reolink.com/contact-us/ and our support will help you check the battery-use log and help resolve the issue ASAP. Thank you all~
When you're in Standby mode, is the status of the camera CLOSED? Is your PIR on or off? I'm trying to narrow down why my batteries get low after only 2 or 3 days. However I understand 20 days is well below the stated 180 days in stand by.Thank you.
Another one of my cameras batteries went low in 24 days of being in standby and not even 3 hours of camera usage. The battery page in the app never showed the battery level going down, went from full to low overnight. I bought 5 of these cameras from Reolink and with 2 of them having the same issue I think they have a problem. Unless they shipped out a bad batch of batteries. But if my replacement batteries do the same thing, then I want my money back.
What's the point of the PIR sensor if it's recommended to be turned off? How else would one be notified if there was movement caught by the camera? I like the Argus but wish now I had purchased one that uses power and not batteries.
I'm not sure where I read that. Perhaps I'm mistaken. Frequently changing batteries is going to be expensive!
Hi guys, would you please write to support@reolink.com and also provide UID so we can check the log for you? Our Support Team would love to take a look at the issue for you.
Now today another one of my cameras batteries has died, it lasted around 30 days in standby mode. That's 3 out of my 5 cameras with battery issues! I don't have any confidence in Reolink at this point. They claim to have done all this testing on the Argus, yet then why are so many people having battery issues? Batteries only lasting 30 days or less in standby mode with only a few hours of camera on time, is totally unacceptable! And Bob, before you tell me to contact support I have done this an nothing is getting done!Reolink got my $360 for these 5 cameras, less learned, I'll never purchase anything from them again!!!
Hi, I learned one of our agents is following up your case and please rest assured we will give you analysis result as promised. We apologize for this inconvenience, and appreciate your patience and understanding.
Batteries went dead again, this is the 3rd time for this camera in standby mode and very little camera on time.
Hello raknaman, Sorry for what you have been experiencing. Did you contact our support for an examination of your battery use log?
Another battery drain on one of my cameras, this one got almost 3 months in standby mode. I've gone through 24 batteries now, at $2 a piece that's $48 and it's only been 3 months. Part of the issue seems to be that whenever you use the app to enter the settings, the camera takes a screen shot. This uses precious battery power! I turn on PIR twice a day, once when I leave the house and at night when I go to bed. And every now and then I might take a peek through the camera. I've gotten no where near the Reolink's rated 180 days (6 months), in standby mode. Reolink, you need to be more realistic and truthful with your product specs! I have 6 Argus cameras and 1 Keen. I feel like I won't be able to afford to keep them online, due to this huge battery drain issue. And please don't tell me to contact support again, they are aware of the issue and can't seem to fix it. I monitor the battery status page of my cameras and the usage has been way less than your specs.
