NVR Playback Feature Not Working

I have a RLN8-410 NVR with 4 cameras, set up with WiFi connectivity. The playback feature worked well with remote network access until about 2-3 months ago. Now I just get the spooling wheel when I attempt a remote access playback, it never catches up - just spins. Do I have a setting wrong, is there a software issue? The NVR disk storage - 2 TB runs at 95% full, saves about 10 days of video. Live video functions great.
