Where is the limitation of 4TB per HDD coming from?If I can install two 4TB drives for a total of 8TB, can I install ONE 8TB drive for a total of 8TB storage. If yes, can I install TWO 8TB drives for a total of 16TB storage?
We only tested 4TB HDD with the NVR and it could work with our NVR without any problem.Currently we did not test other HDD with higher storage.Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Hello Bobby,Have you by chance ordered and tested an 8 TB drive in the NVR? I would be interested to know what the outcome was.If reolink would test a larger HDD with the NVRs, I am sure your customers would appreciate it. If your test is successful, it would allow you to advertise even larger maximum capacities. It makes good business sense to do a few in-house tests in order to be able to advertise the maximum capabilities of your product.
This is a really valid and significant question. The RLK16-410b8 has slots for up to 16 cameras. At 16 cameras 4TB is not a lot of recording time unless you use a low graphic setting, in which case you may as well get a lower end system elsewhere. I'm looking at 9-10 cameras for the system I'm envisioning. With 4TB I can't use all of those on full HD and expect to go away for a weekend.
