I want to operate my Reolink Argus in total darkness, 24/7. Trouble is, that to get any video, the night lights (Infra-Red LEDs) have to be switched on permanently, with the obvious massive drain on the battery. I know that the switch (that operates the night vision LEDs) is in the software. In other words, a piece of program code could make the IR LEDs only switch on, when a motion is detected, thus saving the battery. I have tried to run the camera in total darkness, but the batteries fail after about three weeks.
