@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 The client is a storage unit that is out in the middle of no where. There is no onsite office and no available internet. I have consulted with them about using a hotspot but they would rather not have the reoccurring cost. The proposal here is that if a client calls the main office and claims an issue, they can drive out to the storage unit, go to a lockbox located on the outside of a unit, pickup the recorded video from an external hard drive, replace the drive with another NVR formatted hard drive, and bring the hard drive with the video back to the main office to look through. There really isn't a temperature/humidity controlled area that this can be installed in.I can run power and a data cable to the lockbox that would allow them this service, but I can't seem to find any external hard drive that uses an external power source that the NVR will read via the eSATA port. I have tried the following:Avolusion HDDGear 6TB (6000GB) USB 3.0 External Gaming Hard Drive (Designed for Xbox One X, Pre-Formatted) - Unit powers on but is unable to be formatted.BUFFALO DriveStation Axis Velocity High Speed External Hard Drive 2 TB - Unit will not power on without having USB connected. All hard drives off the shelf at Best Buy or Walmart use the SS USB interface that does not work with eSATA.Is there a way to make this work without FTP? I know what you are saying as I have setup an FTP with a different client that was looking to record a time lapse of a construction project they were working on. That use case will not fit for this client.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Sorry, I forgot to mention that the area does not have internet.
I have a client that is looking for a particular setup. They would like to have recordings from the NVR being saved only to an external hard drive. When there is an issue, they want to drive on site, remove the external hard drive, and replace it with another external hard drive until another issue arises. Then they can take the hard drive back to their office and look through the timeline. The hard drive needs to be encased as it is will be mounted in a lockbox on the outside of the building.I have tried MULTIPLE hard drive enclosures and cables combinations that will work with the eSATA on the NVR and none of them work.Anyone have a combination that works for this setup?
