Let me correct about the answer delay.I just receive an answer from your colleague with a new firmware!I'm testing it!
Hi Cynthia, you are totally right, I just reach the support and I'm waiting an answer. But if you reply with the same reactivity for Flash Player, I think I'll have an answer when HTML5 will die too...But sorry I'm working as software developer and it's not possible to never have any bug. So you will have bug.And especially for your kind of company without any serious about the delay. You know since at least 5 years that you shouldn't use Flash Player and you're waiting the final limit to drop it.So I repeat, you will have bugs with new firmware and my opinion still the same for people: do not buy Reolink.
Hello,I'm a software developer and also a DIY camera installer.Few weeks ago, I bought 3 Reolink cameras for my home. I build an entire systems (based on Kubernetes) to record these cameras and also make a live-view of them (with only a unique login who can log-in every cameras at once). But as these old-school cameras still using Flash Player, it's not possible to do anything with them. We can only see them (one by one) via the browser and accept the security risk about Adobe Flash Player who will be definitely die in 31 days. But only on a comupter, smartphone doesn't accept Flash Player! So that means every customer who buy your cameras (enterprises, physical customers, ...) who (try to) use them everyday to secure a home, a work building etc have to replace them.Of course we will have the firmware update before the end of the year (we believe it) but as you don't have any beta-release, that means every users who update the firmware will have a billions of bugs and we have to wait again few months/years to have a fix, if I believe your development plan. Because Flash Player is dead since at least 5 years but you still use it. So that means fixing bug is clearly not a priority for you. We'll have to wait maybe 10 years before a fix.So my opinion about your cameras is that you should stop sell and close your company. It's a shame to wait the last day/month to release a priority firmware like this. And in many countries, it's considered as "planned obsolescence" and you will pay for it.So as a professionnal in Software industry (so I know how it works in background to do firmware/software), I can tell to everybody that you're a not a trust/serious-company and my advice is: do not buy Reolink camera.Hope my advice can help a lot of people!
