Just a quick question. Background:I have setup a Reolink camera system consisting of 10 POE cameras and a single 16-port POE NVR. Eight of the ten cameras are IP based (not directly connected to the NVR but attached to POE switch) and two are directly connected to the NVR getting a private IP (172). For the 8 (non attached) POE cameras, I would like to switch them from using DHCP and instead use a static address for better network management.Question:If I change the cameras from dynamic (DHCP) to static addressing, do I need to do anything on the NVR for them to be found and continue recording? Will the NVR search on the local subnet and find a camera that changes IPs?I assume there would be no issues as the cameras on DHCP are not guaranteed to get the same IP even via DHCP upon rebook, however I wanted to check for any known issues for making this change. Are the channels for the cameras based on the UID and not IP?
Hello Quella,There is no issue to change the camera IP address from DHCP to static IP. When the camera's IP address is on the same subnet as the NVR's LAN IP address(check it under Network > General), the NVR will find the camera and record without any problem.
I assumed that was the case. Thanks for the confirmation!
