I finally ordered my RLC 423. Please help on determining proper power option. The wire run is under the eaves of the roof (dry area out of weather), about 45 feet long to both house ac power and an Ethernet switch, (then to a Synology sever). Wire will be Cat6. Switch is a Netgear, but not with AT compliant Ethernet power out (will use a non poe port). Would thru-put be better with option 1 or 2 below:1. Use the Reolink power supply that comes with the unit, and buy a 'Generic' 60 foot universal extension cable ($19.99)...or2. Purchase a 'Trendnet' POE Injector TPE115GI for $29.99 and run the power up over the Ethernet cable.Running 1 cable or 2 is not a big problem, and the $10.00 difference I'd trade off for faster thru-put. Any help or other alternative suggestions would be appreciated....Thanks
Hi, for 1 or 2, they are almost the same. CAT6 and ‘Trendnet’ POE Injector TPE115GI both support gigabit network connection. But for RLC-423, it is fast Ethernet port. So you can choose the 1 to save your cost.
Thanks for your prompt response.
