Autodiscovery of cameras on different network

Hi,

I have started splitting my network into smaller nets in ordre to get some more security into it.
Now I would like to have my security cameras on a seperat vlan and subnet but I can not autodiscover them.
The autodiscovery is also needed for outside access if I understand this correct.

How does the autodiscovery work so I can proxy it between the networks.

Auto discovery using IP almost certainly works using broadcast packets, which will remain on the local subnet. Thus, if the Reolink client is on a different subnet, I doubt very much that it can discover clients automatically.
Is the UID feature enabled on the camera setup? That is what makes it possible to access Reolink cameras remotely (through the "cloud").

My guess is that separating cameras from the Client on different IP subnets implies that the cameras will have to be manually defined in the Client using their actual IP addresses, and there will need to be static routes between the subnets to enable them to communicate.

I think you are right. But it could be multicast and then I could proxied over.

It is. So what you say is that I might be able to configured the cameras in the other subnet and then add the camera via the UID in the phone app?

That is indeed the case yes. My problem here is that I can't add the camera so I can see it in the phone app when not at home.

I could of course try to move the cameras, add them on the computer and then verify access and then add the cameras via the mid in the phone app.
