Client using excessive CPU resources Mac OS
-
Aloha! Iʻm currenlty using a mac mini as a NVR. The one that has the option for 2 drives. Here is the setup:
NVR
2014 Mac Mini
Intel Core i7
16gb RAM
128gb pcie NVME SSD for OS and client
2TB HDD for video recordings and network NAS
MacOS Monterrey
Network
Routing done by Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro
Switching done by Ubiquiti 16 port POE gigabit switch
Client is recording 24hours. Monitor is on live view 24 hours with 9 cameras in the smallest gallery mode. Recording at standard, monitoring in fluent mode. Been using legacy client for past 2 years with no problem so I know the computer can handle the video feeds and host a NAS at same time with no issues. Just upgraded to new client and an having all kind of performance issues.- Videos on monitor are about 20 seconds behind real time.
- Videos on monitor are not in sync. Some as much as 30 seconds different from each other.
- Seems to now use an excessive amount of CPU resources even after just 1 hour of use. According to activity monitor up to 133%. This only started happening after client upgrade.
- According to Intel power gadget my CPU temp is hovering at 98 Celcius.
Note that video recordings playback fine. Itʻs just the live view that is having issues. I have the NTP resyncing every hour. Mac mini auto restarts and cameras are set to auto reboot every night. Any suggestions are appreciated. Client is on most recent update as of August 24, 2022.
