I purchased the Reolink doorbell (WIFI) and I love it! However, I cannot get it to work with my internal home's doorbell chime (not the Reolink doorbell chime).I'm wanting to turn off the external doorbell noise when it is pressed, and to only have it trigger my home's doorbell chime. Is this possible? Previously, I had another companies video doorbell that supported both features and I had no issue with it using my home's doorbell chime. My home is newer, and there should be plenty of power via the existing wiring (I'm not having any issues with the video & audio). The only thing I wired is when I attached the extended wires and wire nuts to the existing doorbell wiring. I wanted more wire length and to ensure the contact was good when locking in each wire onto the doorbell during installation. When locking one of the wires onto the doorbell (during installation), it was actually causing my home's doorbell chime to go off.. so I know the chime / wiring isn't the issue. The doorbell just won't trigger it for some reason.Does anyone have any ideas? Is this not supported with the new Reolink doorbell? Or will this be an added feature with a software upgrade? This is a deal breaker for me when it comes to a video doorbell
Reolink, please see that other people prefer to stick with their original chime box:https://www.reddit.com/r/reolinkcam/comments/yzfbqo/modify_reolink_doorbell_to_keep_original_chime_box/Please make this an option, in addition to allowing control of both exterior and interior sounds (turning off the exterior doorbell sound, and allowing it to use your home's doorbell chime). Other companies allow this, and it's the basic functionality of a doorbell that isn't smart.
