I purchased 6 Reolink cameras more than 12 months ago to replace a Logitech alert system I‘ve had since 2008. I was happy with the Alert cameras although Logitech stopped making them nearly 10 years ago. Over time, some have stopped working and it was time to move to a new system. After all the good reviews I decided to replace with Reolink. The two cameras I’ve taken out of the box, work fine but my REAL problem is reviewing the footage on the Client. Firstly, as a comparison, the Logitech software, downloads all the files directly to your computer as soon as you turn it on. When you review, all the cameras are visible at the same time and below them shows you the activity on each. You then slide the slider across the activity and you see all the movement in all the cameras at once. There is no waiting for files to play or to do one camera at a time. So, on the Logitech software it’s incredibly easy to find what your looking for. It takes 2 seconds rather than minutes when using the Reolink Client.

I then decided to purchase the Reolink NVR, thinking that might be the issue but there was no difference in how to view footage. It was so frustrating that I’ve kept the Logitech cameras (& Software) rather than use Reolink. So, I have two questions for the community.

      1. Am I doing something wrong in how I’m viewing the footage? Are my settings incorrect? i.e is resolution too high so the software can’t handle it in real time

      Or, If not,

      1. How can a 15 year old system that was abandoned nearly 10 years ago be so much better than a current one?

It makes such a difference to how I use the system that I’ve kept most of the Reolink in boxes and have only installed 2 cameras for areas I don’t have to review very often. My needs are very simple. I don’t need 90% of the features on the Reolink cameras although they’re nice to have. However, what I do need is to review footage quickly and easily which I would have thought is a key feature for any security camera system. So far, I haven’t been able to do this with Reolink.

      Any advice would be appreciated.
