Why no capability for sound detection??

Having come from the Arlo world, when our perfectly good cameras were deemed to be at their End Of Life and no longer supported by Arlo, we are VERY happy with our Reolink cameras which are a major improvement!! However, we were surprised that Reolink cameras have no option to be triggered by sound, which we found very useful with the Arlo's.

Lacking sound detection is surprising, because our Reolink cameras all have microphones that could be used to detect different sound levels and then perform similar functions as the current motion detection options (e.g., record, push notification, etc.). We found sound detection VERY useful in monitoring our guinea fowl coop area for loud squawks that would indicate predators nearby, in our detached buildings for the beep of smoke detectors, used in the greenhouse for something falling or otherwise amiss, etc.

Hoping sound detection triggers can be added in the near future.

@user_651490629161069_651490629161069 Totally agreed. I have proposed sound detection (AI - with user recorded sounds) for some time now and I am hoping that one day we will see it implemented. I did even proposed other detection types such as fire detection, facial detection and recognition, number plate recognition, glass breaking, crying, package, etc. Moreover this can be enhanced by having VOIP calling to a list of numbers.
