My video doorbell doesn't always trigger night vision with infra red but stays in color. To trigger it most times I have to turn on my terrace external light for a few seconds and then turn it off. Night illumination is fairly low and I don't have this problem with my other Reolink cameras. I think Reolink has to increase the sensitivity a little more. Anybody else having this problem?

@miragecy_488743704580270 they should make the light sensor sensitivity adjustable. I have the video doorbell and the IR is activated at late evening. Can you relocate the doorbell to a position where there is less illumination at night?
If you have a visitor will you be able to see the person in full colour? If yes then you do not need IR. -
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Unfortunately I cannot relocate my doorbell but anyway the illumination would be the same. In color mode I can see the visitor (not very clear) but illumination is low enough to justify the IR trigger. Also I like the white led that turns on with IR activation indicating the button. Yes, we need light sensor sensitivity.

@miragecy_488743704580270 I give that a +1, same issue here. Doesn't switch to night mode due to a street lamp . Hope there will be a new firmware soon.

Good news, Support provided a modified firmware and now my doorbell can switch in the night to black/white.

@kristof This should be through a parameter setting and not a customized firmware. So no more updates or else you need to ask them again to change the firmware. I am against customization.
-
@joseph_1979 Joseph, nobody said something like that.... I just wanted to inform you that support was able to solve the problem and for all that are in need right NOW there could be a solution. It might also be implemented in the next regular firmware, but who knows that?
Better this way than waiting again for month until there MIGHT be a regular update that possibly includes this feature.
So I am pro customization as long as it helps to fulfill the most desperate needs of the customer right now. -
@kristof That's my personal experience on software and most probably they won't be included in the next upgrade. And there are other customers who have the same issues and didn't raise the complaint.
