Unable to stop continual recording/No alerts on iMac just on NVR monitor

I installed the RLN8-410 with Hardware: N3MB01 Firmware Version: V3.0.0.173_22041117. The cameras connected to it are:
RLC-810A HW :IPC56064MBMP FW: v3.1.0.1782_23021503
RLC 410 HW: IPC_3816M FW: v2.0.0.889_17080801
And three other RLC 410 cameras with the same HW and FW codes.
I can see all cameras on the NVR monitor and see continual recording or only alerts. It seems the cameras are running all the time even though I have gone to maintenance>Recording>Scheduling and unchecked "Enable" to stop recording and applied to all.
On my IMac computer I can see all cameras. When selecting a camera the screen only allows me to see the continual recording from that camera (applies to all cameras). When "alerts" is checked all recording disappears as well as alerts. Even though they were visible on the NVR monitor. 
My old NVR which this replaced allowed me to see only alerts on my IMac computer and not run recording continually.
Any idea on how to solve this?
