My camera RLC-411WS will fail to reconnect to my wifi network. This has happened 3 times now. I end up having to take down the camera (from outside under my roof overhang) and plug into my router via Ethernet cable. Then it connects again. I put it back outside and after about 10 days or so it will lose connection and wont reconnect. My camera is about 45 feet from my Netgear Nighthawk X6 router. I know my router is a very good quality one with great range, so I don't think it is the problem. I have a ring doorbell as well and it never loses connection. The power source is also stable, with no issues. On this last time, I brought the camera in and did a reboot using the Reolink software, I also updated the firmware (although Im pretty I was already using the most current firmware, cause I updated it 3.5 weeks ago when I purchased the camera and received it)Having to take down the camera and hook it up to my router using the ethernet cable is a big pain in the ass. This defeats the purpose of buying a wireless camera.DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS ON WHAT I CAN DO TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ??
May I ask what you are using to either connect or manage the camera? Is it sending data to an NVR, or is it stand-alone? Are you using the PC client, and if so, what platform/version. Are you using the smartphone app, again what platform/version. When it goes away, can you ping the device? Are you using a static or dynamic IP address for the camera? I do not have any outdoor wireless models, but I have not see this behavior with other owners unless it was something to do with the speed or distance to the AP, which you state should not be an issue. Be aware of other things that may impact a signal between the camera and AP that is not between the ring and AP devices; microwave, etc. If you leave the camera connected to a wire (for testing), does it stay connected for longer periods? These would be the places I would begin to have a look.
When the camera goes down, I am unable to reconnect using my Iphone App and the computer App (windows 10) also wont connect. There is no NVR, just the camera. I do not know about pinging the device..I know that when it goes down I am unable to use either app, it fails to connect and wont let me get into settings or anything, so I probably can't ping the camera when it goes down. When I connected the camera to the router via ethernet cable, I kept it connected for afew mins, then unplugged the cable and it continued to work. I then unplugged it from power and installed it back outside with power. It worked for about 10 days and then again lost connection. I have rebooted the camera while connected to the router using the ethernet cable and also installed the most current firmware. I believe the camera already had the most current firmware as I did this when I received the camera about 3-4 weeks ago, I put in the current firmware.
I have the camera plugged into power but not the router via ethernet cabel..Its running good wireless right now
