      Hi

I am getting tired of charging every second week, so I need something better than rcr123. Have anyone tried fitting 18650 or 16650 in their Argus?
I imagine putting them in series using a piece of wire and then just connecting the two positive connectors. I will of course isolate one positive and one ground connector within the camera so that I get the batteries in series. Anyone already tried that? I can't see any arguments against connecting the two positive connectors...

      Best regards
      Jens

Just to make it very clear; yes I know that I can only fit two batteries into the camera. That's why I want to put them in series and then connect both positive camera connectors...

When you connect batteries in series you are double the voltage while maintaining the same capacity rating (amp hours).

When you connect batteries in parallel you are doubling the capacity (amp hours) of the battery while maintaining the voltage of one of the individual batteries.

So with all battery voltages being the same you would want to connect the batteries in parallel.

Or you could just try to find rechargeable CR123 batteries that have a higher capacity.

              Think of it this way...
The best RCR123A has a capacity of around 850 mAh and is super pricy.
An OK 16650 has a capacity of around 2400 mAh and is fairly priced.
An OK 18650 has a capacity of around 3400 mAh and is fairly priced.

So, I dont think a 18650 can fit without you break too much plastic, bu the 16650 will fit just fine.
Using RCR123A the capacity is (best case) 1700 mAh (2x850).
Using 16650 the capacity is 2400 mAh.
Using an 18650 the capacity is 3400 mAh.

So, considering that the price is also way lower (less than half price using two 16650 instead of four RCR123A) it seems like a no brainer. But lets see, I might learn something new about the camera when I start using the two 16650 🙂
