Why Use Visible IR LED's?

I'm curious why the Argus uses IR LED's that emit some visible light? Especially when there are IR LED's that don't emit any visible light and aren't expensive. I don't like the idea of a home invader being able to see my camera's red glow, then single in on it and disable the camera or steal it.

I just got a Reolink camera and noticed the same thing, I never saw IR LEDS that emitted visible light before.
Like you, I would prefer they did not glow, but maybe it was done as a deterrent to let people know the camera is there. -
The problem with it being a deterrent is that once the camera is spotted it can be damaged or stolen. I'd rather its location not be seen.

We won't know if that's the reason why Reolink picked visible light LED's, because they won't tell us. But I'm thinking that non visible LED's cost a little more and that's the real reason.

Black IR 940nm is not so efficient.
Red IR LEDs is for variable using the better choice.
I hate the red lights also, but I have test a black IR Beam and the results are not good.
The "klick" at start is in my eyes more a problem
And a little percent of people can see the 940nm lights.
