TrackMix Poe motion detection and storage

I'm running a Reolink TrackMix Poe and really like the quality of the hardware as well as software. However, I'm struggling with the appropriate settings.
I'm observing my entrance area and I
want to take pictures and video if someone enters this area. Although I marked
areas of non detection, played around with private areas and sensitivity. So
far, I was not able to reduce the significant amount of files and GB of storage
per day. Are there any best practices around to make this easier or are there
recommendations around for the settings?
