Could we add a feature to set the focus and zoom by a number rather than -/+.On low bandwidth connections it is very hard to adjust the focus, it is a trial and error approach that is very time consuming. The autofocus doesn't work well outdoor with foliage and branches.Could such value be saved across reboot. When the camera reboot, the autofocus fails to set correctly and the image is once again blurred. Thanks
Hi, thanks for your suggestion. We have noted and it will be forwarded to our R&D.About the auto-focus, it will fail during adjusting the focus when subjects moving in front of the camera. And once the focus finished, and it is 30sec later. it won't auto-focus again after rebooting. If you reboot it in the 30sec after last focus finished, it would auto-focus again.
What I found out with the RLC 411 (I have to order the 411 over the 410 because of the wider view angle), is that if there is an object in the foreground (branches when the camera is mounted in a tree, or a wall when the camera is mounted on a structure) the camera may focus on the closest object when using the autofocus (despite the fact that most of the image is at a greater distance). So anytime the device power cycle or when you zoom unzoom, you may have to adjust the zoom manually, which can be an over-cumbersome process.A simple number value would allow for quick adjustment. The same than on the RLC423, one could think of presets, for predefined zoom and focus values. The 423 would also benefit of the focus value saved in the preset. With the current preset if you try to use the camera to go through a predefined path, most of the time is spent adjusting the focus, with blurry images.-CC
