Has anyone else compared these cameras to other brands? Using the Clear setting (2K resolution) I think the image quality is good (much better than my analog Zmodo system with 480 TV lines), but it doesn't look like 2K to me. In fact, it doesn't even look like 720p. Comparing this camera footage to a friend's who uses ClearView 720P cameras, his image quality is more crisp and less pixelated. His cameras are also quite a bit more costly than these. I'd just like to see the cameras advertised at their real resolution rate so I know what I'm getting.

My major concern with this is that setting the video at 2K will produce a decent picture, but will require a ton of disk space. I wonder if the cameras are simply not 2K or if the image is over compressed causing other issues? There doesn't seem to be a standard for companies to measure this type of thing. Additionally, I can get 30FPS on my PC at full quality, but on my phone, it's more like one frame every 2-3 seconds. To get smooth video on my phone, I have to go to Balanced or Fluent mode. Anyone else have similar results? Hopefully more software/firmware updates can help.

Hi, about the 2K resolution you can check it by capturing a pic in clear mode when you using Reolink Client. And you can find it is 2304 x 1296.
For compared Reolink to other brands, please make sure you are using the image from Reolink Client and in the clear mode.
About the video on smart phone, quality is limited by the hardware and network. So it use the sub-stream as default to provide smooth video.

Thanks, I understand that the image size is actually 2K, but what I mean is that the clarity when compared with another 720P camera is not as clear and crisp. It's a great image, but somehow even with higher resolution doesn't look as good.

I am using the client in Clear mode, which gives a good live stream image, but on the smart phone video is slow and choppy. When viewing the same live stream from a PC, the video is smooth even in Clear mode, so I believe this is due to the Reolink phone software.

Hi, for the network transmission rate and hardware are different between the phone and PC, so when they are receiving the same clear live stream, the PC can get a smooth video while the phone may not .

Is there any way to increase the transmission rate to the phone? It should be able to handle the same speeds as the PC over wireless.

Hello, the reason why the live view with clear stream is choppy is because the video only plays I frame on the app. I'm really sorry that currently we could not improve that.
                Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Thanks, I hope the app will be updated soon to allow a faster frame rate. This would be very helpful especially when using the phone over wi-fi when bandwidth is not an issue.

When Stream Type is Clear, the bitrate is very high, to decode that, requirement for processor of the phone will also be high. In order to ensure the decoding performance, the app only plays I frame. Due to the size of screen, Balance mode should be OK on the phone. To view the video in Clear mode, it is suggested to do that on a PC by using the Client software.
