Wind noise from mic...how to reduce it?

Greetings: Does anyone have advice or guidance on how to reduce (or eliminate) wind sound as it blows across the mic? I did place a rubber plumber's fitting around the end of the camera, just enough forward so as not to be in the picture...but it doesn't really reduce this noise well. Thanks in adv
