With a Synaptic NAS can I do the following without running a PC/Mac 24/7?

      On motion detection:
      1) Get an email and push notification sent to the iOS app
      2) Has a NAS on my local network record for the duration of the motion event

      Thanks!

Yes, Reolink IP Cameras can work with Synology NAS, pls refer to our FAQ: https://reolink.com/faq/set-up-reolink-camera-in-synology-surveillance-station/

        For motion detection:
        1. Synology NAS can support motion detetion.
        2. There is no iOS app to monitor Synology, you may check on Synology website: https://www.synology.cn/en-global/support/download
        3. You may only set the post-record time for the motion records.

What about a basic NAS not the surveillance station unit? Can the reolink camera stream directly to a NAS on motion detection? I understood you support synology and qnap NAS

For the iOS app I meant the Reolink app. Can motion detection on the camera trigger an email or iOS notification AND start streaming to a NAS on my local network?

          Thanks

Sorry, which kind of basie NAS do you mean?

The motion email or push notification which set on iOS app cannot synchronize to the NAS.

The motion action for NAS must be set on NAS too.

Putting it another way... Can I setup a camera, so the following BOTH happen when motion occurs:
              1) Stream video directly to a local NAS on my home network. For example, https://www.amazon.com/Synology-DiskStation-Diskless-Private-DS115J/dp/B00MO6ZV52/ (how long will it record for on each motion event?)
              2) Send an email (or notification) to my phone so I know motion was detected?

I don't want to record continuously, only when something is detected. I want to record locally but get a notification on my phone that motion was detected.

The settings is the same as we posted on the website: https://reolink.com/faq/set-up-reolink-camera-in-synology-surveillance-station/
The length for each motion event is based on how long the motion lasted.

                2) Send an email (or notification) to my phone so I know motion was detected?
Reolink mobile app can support email settings, and you can set email notification on your mobile phone. Also it can support push notification, when there is motion, it will push the notification on your mobile screen.

OK, I think I've got it now. Thanks! Synology surveillance station is software that runs on the Synology NAS, right?

Acturally, it is the web UI for Synology NAS.
