After recent episode of pairing an NVR with a RLC-422, going of up and down the ladder unscrewing the camera dome, the mounting plate and then pulling the wires out of soffits to press the reset button.

Checking the phone app  while up the ladder! (ooops left the phone in the kitchen) or going back indoors and checking that the reset worked, then back up the ladder to fix RLC-422 back in place, several times :-(.

Software camera reset, please...... add this to your firmware.

Or at least add the software reset feature to future chipsets if you can't with the current ones.

      Thanks

        Hi, sorry for the inconvenience.
If you want to reset the camera to the default settings, you can enter the Device Setting->System Maintenance->Restore. Refer to below:
        reset
And could you please tell me why you need to reset it? If you need more help , please kindly send email to support@reolink.com.

Well it kept me fit!, thank you for pointing that out 🙂

I was trying to connect to a 3rd party NVR which could not see the RLC-422 at the time and pressing the reset button allowed the NVR to see the RLC-422, if only briefly. The 3rd party NVR got binned in the end.

I just assumed that the reset button was a hard reset.

Can I ask why does the RLC-422 have a manual reset button, when as you point out there's a software reset.

The software reset is only available when the camera is connected to the Reolink Client software, otherwise, we could not use the software to control the camera. When the camera cannot be connected to the client software, for example, if you forget the login password, we will have to use the manual reset button to reset the device.
