I asked this same question in a previous post, but thought it could use its own post for those searching on just this subject.I have purchased and secondary 3TB internal HDD for my 16-channel Reolink NVR, however before opening up the unit and discovering that I am missing something, can anyone who has done it already tell me if I need any additional cables, screws, power connectors, etc? I did not want to unplug everything, open up the unit, and discover I needed something extra to make it work.Is having just the HDD enough to move forward, or do I need to order anything else to connect a secondary internal drive?
I did a quick opening of the 16-channel NVR to see what is needed to install an additional 3tb (surveillance) drive. I bought the recommended drive from a previous post, however it looks like their is only a single drive cable going to the primary drive. There is an extra power cable so I think this would work for power. There is no mounting plate like what the primary drive is mounted to from the factory install. I did some quick looking on Amazon and found a kit like the following link; anyone else have any ideas or solutions allowing me to mount and connect an internal secondary drive? Does Reolink sell a kit to allow me to add the second drive having all the components?https://www.amazon.com/SNDIA-drive-Connection-Cable-Molex/dp/B01GQRRGES/
Just replying to see if I can try again for any recommendation on adding a secondary internal HD to my NVR. Anyone done this already of have advice. I have bought the drive, but it looks like there is no mount, power, interface cable inside, etc. Just looking for some a*sistance or direction.
Hi QuellaSorry did not reply earlier. We found and replied to your earlier post regarding the same question #16257.Please check if you find the connection ports in your 16-channel NVR according to the pictures. For internal extra HDD installation in 16-channel NVR, here are some pictures to show you:Position 1 is where you put the extra HDD inside the NVR. We also provide 4 screws in the box for the HDD installation, please make sure screws are tightened, otherwise, HDD may cannot be initialed or work properly if it is loose.*4 screws for internal extra HDD installation Port 2 is the eSATA connection for extra HDD.Port 3 is the power supply connection for extra HDD.1-1.png2-1.jpg3-1.jpg
