Power question using RLK8-410B4

I'm hoping to confirm how power is supplied to these cameras. They are listed as POE cameras and a POE NVR, but the diagrams of the cameras are showing a separate DC power input. If this camera is plugged into the NVR via CAT5 cable then I shouldn't need anything connected to the DC power input on the camera because power is being supplied over the Ethernet cable from the NVR, correct? Is the DC input on the camera only to be used if the camera is stand-alone, or connected to another NVR that doesn't supply POE?

Yes, when the camera is connected to the POE port on the NVR via an Ethernet cable, power will be supplied over the Ethernet cable from the NVR, there is no need to plug a DC power adapter. But you can also use the power adapter at this point, the camera will be powered on by the DC power adapter then.
The DC power adapter is necessary when the camera is connected to a non-POE port, for example, the LAN port on your router or some other switch which has a normal Ethernet port without POE capability.
