3rd Party Motion Sensors?
-
Hey guys,
I am looking to hook up a PIR motion sensor. I was thinking about something like this:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000U3DYH8/ref=s9_simh_gw_g60_i1_r?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=J7GQ6ZGWTAEA3D9TSQB2&pf_rd_r=J7GQ6ZGWTAEA3D9TSQB2&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=a6aaf593-1ba4-4f4e-bdcc-0febe090b8ed&pf_rd_p=a6aaf593-1ba4-4f4e-bdcc-0febe090b8ed&pf_rd_i=desktop
How would I go about having my NVR and/or cameras start recording using such a device? There doesn't seems to be any sort of port for causing a motion alarm. -
I'm not aware of any ports on the NVR or cameras to take advantage of a third-party product as you have listed. I would ask why you are not wanting to use the motion sensing of the camera to do this for you? Is this something you want to setup farther down a hall or area not covered by the camera and will make sure to pick up all activity coming from that location?

Sorry that Reolink cameras and NVRs do not supports 3-rd party motion sensors.
Currently, PIR is available on our ADK8-20B4/10B4.
We also planning to release a PIR camera in 2017. Please keep an eye on our website: https://reolink.com if interested. -
I wonder how would you do wiring with this sensor as the picture provided gave me a streamline of questions how I'm gonna do it. Lack of wiring diagrams.
Also I think there is no such port on NVR that can connect with the sensor. Anyway, Reolink has it own PIR sensor product line, check this out:https://reolink.com/product/adk8-20b4-10b4/

@Quella:
My main reason is that, quite frankly, it is utter garbage (at least for my needs). It has so many false-positives that any sort of notification system is useless from all of them. I put my camera system up on my property in rural Montana which has plentiful wild life. I'd LOVE to capture some animal movement but with the rain/snow/wind, the camera false-positives literally every 5 minutes. I was hoping to get some non-video based sensors to try and remedy the situation.
It is unfortunate that there is no way I can do this.
@phraew: I see the NVR system you listed is pre-made with cameras, PIR sensors, and everything. Can I somehow buy the Reolink PIR sensors to use with my RLN8-410? -
Hi navi
Sorry that sensors in alarm system ADK8-20B4/10B4 are not compatible with your RLN8-410 NVR, they use with DVR.
These sensors connect wireless-ly with DVR in the alarm system pack and the RLN8-410 does not has the wireless signal receiver for these sensors. -

That sucks. Could you guys PLEASE consider allowing us to use third party sensors? My ANCIENT Samsung DVR has alarm hookups for custom "alarm events" to trigger stuff on it. Alternatively you could expose an actual API to allow us to trigger events.
