Unable to Reset Lock screen password

Pressed the "lock" icon on the screen by error. Forgot the password to unlock that. MacOS. The lockscreen password must be different to the camera password, because entering that does not unlock the screen. Tried everything now, inc deleting the application, reloading from the website what I thought was a new, pristine, virgin copy, nah, still comes back with a locked screen.
I reset the camera on the ipad and iphone, but that doesn't solve the lockscreen on MacOS.
Any ideas please ?
