Hi, I'm entirely new to this topic of surveillance cameras so I'm quite confused and overwhelmed with so many products available.
What I need is a camera for a farm where I have no power or wifi, I know that there are some options that use SIM Cards but I would like to avoid that, I don't need real-time feedback, I just need to be able to check every week or in some specific time if something has happened.

I don't want to waste a lot of money on this, but I want something reliable, what options do I have?

Another question, there are cameras that use SD Cards, how does that work? When the camera detects something it just saves the video on the SD Card and I can later watch it?

I'm sorry if these are really dumb questions but ... the knowledge I have is limited.

@adsdslandicas_607820684710066 With that requirements there is only one option............have a chair, a bottle of fine wine and watch out. Joking. So if there is no power then you need a camera charged through a solar panel. Reolink offered a range of battery operated cameras all of which can be charged through a solar panel (around 30 bucks). But battery operated cameras cannot operate continuously but are activated when an event is detected (vehicle, person, pet or any motion). This, of course, impose a limit on the detection range provided by the PIR. It's around 33 feet (10m). Again all the cameras support SD with capacity up to 256GB. If the camera is not triggered often this means months of storage. Now comes the issue for you. You can configure it at home where you have Internet and check that camera is recording, etc. After you install it on-site how can you ensure that it is working correctly since you have no WIFI and you don't want to have mobile connectivity. Even so if it is recording then you need to pull out the SD card and have a PC to view the recorded videos. This is really impractical. You definitely need a camera with SIM and Reolink have them. Now you need to weigh whether to spend a few bucks to get a data SIM or someone stolen your cows and you get notice the next day you visit your farm :).

            Thanks for the response.

Would the Argus 3 Pro be a good choice?

The SD Card limits seems to be 128GB but that wouldn't be a big problem.
The spotlight led can be turned off or it will always go on when it detects something?

@adsdslandicas_607820684710066 Argus 3 Pro is a fantastic camera but as I told you you have an issue to watch the video and get an alert that the canera has been triggered. Going on-site and get the camera from a pole, pull out the SD and read it through a PC is absolutely impractical. You need communication and in your case this should be through mobile data. In this scenario Argus 3 pro is not a good option. You need the Reolink GO PT Plus. You may wish to visit the Reolink site and read its description.

As for 128GB SD, it's a good choice. You have for at least a month unless it is triggered frequently.
