IOS notification black screen

Hi,
I have the Reolink POE doorbell. When someone presses the bell I get a notification with sound on my apple watch but on my iPhone (12 pro) the screen stays black and there is no notification sound. The notification however does display on my phone if I wake the screen (so before loging in).
Is there a setting that I am missing here?

It is the same with my wife's iPhone SE.
