I agree, this is basic functionality and has been asked for on all forum sections (general (this page), client, and mobile). Can we at least know if this has been "accepted" and will be in a future software update?

Hi, thanks for your attention on our update! Yes, we pay high attention to users' demands and this suggestion has been accepted. But it takes time, it will be finished at the end of this year at earliest. Hope it won't be postponed.

Thank you for giving us an update! Knowing it is at least being worked on is much better than being in the dark. -

Carl do we have an update?

Thanks for the update. I hope this will be a search feature for the PC or app software and not just a search from the NVR.
-
This is definitely a needed function for not only the PC software, but also the mobile device software. I also record 24/7 on all my cameras, and not being able to search and event / alarm is frustrating
-
I guess this answers my question from here https://reolink.com/topic/nvr-motion-detection/ Add another vote from me. I'm planning on keeping the NVR in my attic or garage so local access is not an option.

Hi, As a new reolink customer I have been scratching my head bald trying to figure out how to view motion events on my phone and windows pc. I'm able to view them directly from the NVR.
In version V7.2.2.28 Windows client it states in the improvements "The playback file will be marked with red to identify the alarm
video." Is this the feature were talking about in this thread? Because I still cannot see any red in my timeline.
Can anyone confirm if this feature of viewing motion alerts on Windows client and Android app is currently in development?

Hi RChuck, please check if your NVR model is RLN8-410-E in the system information tab. If it is so, we will release the new firmware to fix it soon. If not, please upgrade the firmware to check, refer to https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/categories/360001053634-Download-Center.

Hi Carl, yes my NVR is showing RLN8-410-E. So it's a case of waiting for the new firmware?
Also what is the best way to find out or be notified of firmware updates?

Yes, please wait for the new firmware. Also, you may submit a request to the support team to get the firmware for the first time when it was available. Refer to https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.
