      Hi, I wondered if anyone with an NVR could answer the following question? I asked support but I am still unclear what the answer is!

      I initially asked;

      If cameras are connected directly to the ports on the NVR and someone unplugs a camera externally and plugs in a laptop, will they have full access to the network (ie other devices, printers, internet connection) if the WAN is connected to the rest of the network?

      All I need to know is whether I need to VLAN the NVR on the network.

      thanks

          @mg_349975036309755 This has to be answered by Reolink unless a security consultant does penetration tests to validate the security of the NVR. I used to commission consultants to do pen testing on large systems which are connected to the Internet.

          If they manage to access to the Linux of the NVR I guess somehow they can access the WAN port. To be secured you need to connect the cameras to a managed switch and apply port locking based on MAC and/or setup VLANs.
