Hey y'all. I'm planning a custom build for an NVR to handle Reolink cameras. We have about 36 of them. Mostly, they are RLC-410 and RLC-411 cameras. The NVR will send the video to the local NAS. The NVR will be connected to the network with a 10GB fiber link. So, there will be plenty of bandwidth.

I have tried to use Z97-Pro build from ASUS, but it bogs down and becomes unresponsive after about 24 cameras. I don't want to use the FTP option directly from the camera to the NAS because that eliminates the ability to search for footage using the software. It becomes too difficult for some of the users to find the footage they might need.

Anyway, I'm planning to either use an X99 or X299 build. I currently have an X99 board with an i7-5960X. I also have 32GB of DDR4 RAM, a Samsung 960 Pro M.2 SSD for the boot drive and an ASUS Strix R9 390X.

      My questions:

      1. Will this system be good enough to handle this many streams?
      2. What configuration would be better and would any of these improve performance?

Hi Andrew, sorry about that we didn't test the hardware and it is hard to say they could hold the 36 cameras. But for the PC, it used the video card to decode the stream from the cameras, so you may choose the best video card as you can. Also, you may contact our support team for a further help.
