The mobile app will not save encoder settings. I will set what I want and then log out of the app. If I log back in the settings have changed. Apparently, there is an issue with the app and saving settings. Please fix this.

Hello, thanks very much for requesting information about our product.
Regarding the issue you mentioned, I have run some test. With the APP on both Android and IOS system, I have tried to enable or disable audio under Encode Setting and it can be saved properly. The version on IOS system is 2.2.16.25 and 2.2.1.15 on Android. Please make sure that you have pressed the save button at the top right-hand corner after changing the settings.

        save

If you did press the Save icon but it still failed to save the settings, please provide the following info to me:
        1. may I know what kind of settings you have changed?
        2. Did you try it on Android or IOS system?
        3. what's the version of your APP?
        Thanks in advance.

            Hi --

I do click on the save button every time.

            Answers to your questions:

            1. I am trying to change stream type, resolution, bitrate, FPS.
            2. iOS.
            3. 2.2.15

It seems that there is a new version out for iOS? If so, please provide me with a download link. I originally installed the app from the App Store.

            Thanks,

            Daniel

              Hello Daniel,

              Thanks for your reply.
Here we tried it again on version 2.2.15.56, After we changed the Encode Settings(if Resolution was changed, the camera would reboot), logged out the app, then went to the settings page again, the Stream Type would still be Fluent which is normal since it is just an option for related configuration. If changing the Stream Type to be Clear, we could see that the settings were saved. In addition, if we change the settings under Fluent, when logging back into the page, it would also show the new settings.
In you situation, may I know if you mean you will always see Fluent even you've changed the Stream Type to Clear and saved it? If you change the Stream Type to be Clear, will the new settings display or it just always shows the default Resolution and bitrate etc.?
What's more, would you please tell me whether the phone is on the same network as the camera or not when you change the Encode Setting?
Thanks in advance and look forward to your information.

                  Many Thanks, Rich

                    Forum Admin --

I am in the same boat as Rich. Regardless of being on the same network or not you have to continually change it to either balanced or clear after logging out and back in. I believe there is a glitch with the mobile app because with the client software on my laptop it will save those settings. Unfortunately on the mobile app I have to continually change it to get the display settings I want as default.

I hope we can find a solution for this problem.

                    Daniel

The Stream Type under Encode Settings is mainly for configuration, for example, if you change resolution or bitrate under Fluent, it means if recorded with Fluent as the stream type, the video will have the related resolution and bitrate, which is the same with Clear. We cannot change the stream type for live view here.
If you want to change the current stream type, please do that on the live view page(under Stream on the bottom).

                      stream control

However, this could not be saved permanently. In order to ensure fluency of live view on the phone, the stream type would go to fluent by default every time you login to the mobile app, that means, if you log out the app and log in again, it will go back to fluent again.
