@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 Camera is 8-9 ft up on my house and my entrance slopes down so objects are even lower. Parked car is about 30-40 ft away. I emailed Reolink, waiting for their reply. I am using the latest firmware on their website but that was last updated September 2022. I have an older Reolink RLC-520 5mp, no smart AI, but it's working better than the Duo with just motion detection.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 more updates, tested the person alerts, had to turn it up to 70 before it would alert even when walking right in front the camera. So, decided to move the camera, a bit more level and further out from under the eves of my house. I'm now able to get person alerts with sensitivity of 50 but only when walking out of the house and not into the house. Had to turn it up to at least 60 to alert as I walked toward the house. Vehicle set at 60 and it alerted when my wife got home in her van and as she got out of the van and walked to the house. I'll fine tune the day alerts and see if it will run at night without false alerts. I emailed Reolink support, we'll see if they have any tips that I haven't tried.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 turning person sensitivity down to 40 and 2 second delay, won’t even trigger an alert. Also, vehicle set at 40, I got 4 false vehicle alerts for my parked cars at dawn as the frames lightened up. My wife walked out to her car and drove off. No alerts for car or person. Does camera angle affect alerts, should I reposition camera? Getting closer to packing it up back to Amazon.
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 okay will give it a try, however, if I still get a ton of person false alerts at night on lower settings or miss legit alerts during the day, then I’m returning this camera. Thanks
@joseph-chircop_497308027822318 thanks, I’ve been adjusting throughout the last few nights and can’t find a solution. I also don’t want to set sensitivity so low that I miss legit alerts during the day. Set person sensitivity to 75 and delay to 3 seconds and still got over 50 false alerts for person, I see nothing on my recordings. I’ll turn sensitivity down to what you suggested and try again.
@ginny I adjusted person delay to 3 seconds and set object size, still got over 50 false alerts for person, no visible object on video recordings.
I've been using various brand security cameras for years and was excited to get the Duo 2 POE because of the wide field of view and smart AI detection. I've had it setup for two nights now and the night time motion detection false alerts is driving me crazy! It seemed to be flying bugs attracted to the infared lights. I've had occasional false alerts with other brands due to flying bugs at night, but not as frequent as this Reolink. I read updating to the newest firmware may help, did the update and still having issues. With the old firmware, with MD sensitivity set to absolutely low 1 at night, was getting alerts every 2 minutes due to flying bugs, this went on for hours! I didn't see a way to set delays for MD, so I did what someone suggested and turned off MD recording and MD alerts and only activated smart detection (person, vehicle, pet) for recording and alerts. Last night, I got motion, person and vehicle notifications when there was clearly no person or vehicle in any camera view. I don't know why I'm getting motion detection when I have the record and alert selection off. It also looked like the AI was still picking up the flying bugs and identifying it as person and vehicles. Of course this was also triggering the spotlight, so I eventually turned that off. I am turning off all these functions that I purchased this security camera for. In the meantime, my Arlo Essential which is setup nearby is flawless, no false alerts at all, but the Arlo has a 5 second delay compared to the Reolink which is about 2-3 seconds. Any suggestions? Should I set delays for person, vehicle, and pets and try again tonight? Ready to pack it up and return the camera if I can't get this resolved.
