Firstly, this relates to the fo.lowing unit:
I know there hasnt been a firmware update in some time and there will probably never be another, unless there is some kind of security breach when Reolink are forced to do one, but i was wondering a couple of things as follows...

I have an NVR RLN8-410-E (H3MB16) and I was wondering when (or even if) the version 3 of the firmware will be available?I have just upgraded my cameras (RLC-4105MP) to version 3 (3.0.0.136.20121100) and I would like to keep the versioning the same across devices.Is version 3 of the firmware for H3MB16 NVRs' going to be released anytime soon, just so I know whether to hold my breath or not?Thanks.
It would be nice if a Reolink member of staff posted here giving a list of wireless mice that are known to work with their devices. Better still, modify their onboard drivers to accept all mice drivers and keyboard drivers too; it makes it so hard to type long passwords in whenever you need to make changes to the system.
I thought I explained my theory, but obviously I wasn't clear enough.Male USB Type-A connectors must come in one of 4 colours; White (USB 1), Black (USB 2), Blue (USB 3) or Red (USB 3.1). Any other colour means that it is a proprietary (I misspelled in previous post) piece of equipment which does not necessarily stick to or follow typical USB guidelines, rather like Dell who use a Yellow USB connector on a fair number of their own manufactured devices.My Unifying receiver is an orange colour which suggested to me it was proprietary and did not necessarily adhere to USB standards, hence the reason it doesn't work on the NVR as it requires a specific driver.I was trying to see if those that DID work were one of the standard colours and those that DIDN'T were of a non-standard, proprietary colour but @reolink's response put pay to that theory.
OK. So there's goes my theory. Both those colours are conventional USB colours but mine is orange, which is propitiatory.
My brand new M185 does not work, even though that particular model does not have the unifying logo on the dongle.
What colour is the INSIDE of the nano receiver; black, white, blue or some other colour? I'm testing a theory but until I have peoples results, I can't say whether my theory is correct or not.
Just out of curiosity, of those using the Unifying receiver, what colour is the INSIDE of the connector: white, black, blue or some other colour?

I only have 1 device on my Logitech Unifying receiver and that's a mouse which does NOT work on my Reolink NVR (RLN8-410).
I'm glad my injection (even some 2 years or so after the original post) has helped you out. All we need to do now is compile a list of which ones are verified to work and specify if it's front, back or either USB port.@Cynthia. Is this something you could manage by putting a pinned topic on the main page if we give you the information?
You can actually search for motion events on individual cameras using the NVR monitor – but it's pretty tedious. You can also search for events by connecting to the NVR using your computer and browser. I haven't really done any of that nor have I experimented much with motion sensitivity and masking settings in an attempt to make motion events more definitive. But it is something I will be investigating.
Yes, I know you can do this but the playback is ONLY what is recorded on the NVR. There is no way of getting access to the SD card once connected to an NVR (Reolink's anyway) as the IP address is not internally accessible.
Just an opinion here but I believe an SD card has a limited number of write cycles whereas the HDD may not work forever it will surely outlive an SD card when considering write operations. Also, the HDD is spinning all the time anyway so not recording 24/7 will not extend its life significantly IMO. The major consideration with regard to recording 24/7 is how many total hours of recording will you have based on the capacity of your HDD.
So are you suggesting to just record 24/7 on the HDD and do away with the MicroSD card? I thought the HDD would spin down when not used for a significant amount of time (like 30 minutes or so) so perhaps someone from Reolink can confirm which is the case; constant spin or spin down when not in use?I would also prefer to only use the HDD for motion as this will reduce the number of writes and consequent seeks when searching for data and it's also easier for exploring for when something does go missing whereas with the SC card I thought there's no choice, it's 24/7 but I maybe wrong here and until I get my alternative PoE so I can reference the cameras individually through my own internal network (which I can't through the Reolink NVR) I can't reassess my options.

Correct, as it doesn't use the Unifying receiver. If you're lucky enough to have an old style Logitech then that SHOULD work without issues.
I tried a Microsoft Arc Mouse – it too fails to work.
It seams like any mouse with a high end brand name behind it fails; Logitech, Dell, Microsoft etc. I wonder about Lenovo and HP (and all it's derivatives) work or whether they fail too? Anyone got one to test?

It only works on the USB port in the front. My wired mouse works just fine on the back port, just not the wireless one.
Well, at least you've got a working wireless mouse now! There may be too much other interference around the back of the NVR effecting the performance of the wireless dongle but hey, who cares as long as it works in one of them!
I think you'll find it's 10/100 PER PORT not PER DEVICE. Most Switches are quoted as 10/100 or 10/100/1000 these days which simply means it will switch between those throughput's, depending on what it receives from the input device, rather like USB 3 can handle USB 2 and 1 so it could be shown as USB 1/2/3.

Anyway, it should arrive on Wednesday. I'll report back wether it works or not.
Just make sure you have it switched to the wireless mode and not Bluetooth!

The one I linked to works 100%. The only thing is I purchased the keyboard as well but not sure if you can get the mouse alone, probably not. Just out of interest, which USB port are you using? The front or the back? For the record, I use the front one.In a few minutes I will have a go with my two Logitech mice to see if they work. In fact I'll do that before I send this response...... a few minutes later ...OK. One of my Logitech mice, the one that uses the Logitech Unifying receiver does NOT work. However, my Logitech which DOESN'T use the Unifying receiver DOES work. Unfortunately I don't have the model number of the mouse that works but I know the mouse cost me a fair few quid, unlike the cheap mass produced imports, and a quick search on Logitech's site seems to suggest it's no longer manufactured and ALL their wireless mice now use the Unifying receiver.
Hi. Just come across this thread and I wanted to say that I use a wireless mouse on my RLN8-410. I purchased this as I was hoping a keyboard would work too but the mouse works flawlessly.
I have an NVR 8 channel (RLN8-410) with 2 RLC-410-5MP attached. I have noticed that, after connecting my camera's to the NVR I am unable to access the cameras directly.[br][/br][br][/br]In each camera I have installed a 128GB MicroSD card for 24 hour recording which runs in conjunction with motion recording on the NVR. How do I view the video on the MicroSD or have I wasted my money buying the cards and putting them in?[br][/br][br][/br]The reason I ask is that we have recently had a theft on site and using the motion sensitive recording, the exact moment of the theft has been missed due to the recording not starting quick enough. I have therefore had to switch the NVR onto 24 hour recording which I didn't want to do given that the HDD has moving parts whereas the MicroSD doesn't and therefore more robust.[br][/br][br][/br]I look forward to your reply.[br][/br][br][/br]
That kit is Powerline, NOT PoE (Power Over Internet).You would need something like this; obviously the Danish version.[br][/br]However, I would personally have purchased a power supply for the camera; like this one.[br][/br]I know it means running an additional cable and you would probably need to buy an extension cable for the power; like this.[br][/br]If you need further help, let me know.
