@dcronin135_844023754215584 I can answer that. For a general security camera the Trackmix is OK, I however would like much better optics for my use case. The fact the Optical Zoom channel 2 is only available in 2K resolution and only records in 1080p kind of ruins it for me. Instead, I use Channel 1's 4K resolution with 4K recording and then digital zoom via video software to produce a much clearer image. I use I-frame x1 and constant with the highest bitrate possible and the compression with x264 is still pretty bad. I think it's very cool that channel 2 can automatically zoom and I'll use it for active preview at 2.5x to avoid digital zoom but for zooming in on my bird feeders or sun catchers I use channel 1 for better resolution & clarity. Beyond 2.5x the zoom on channel 2's tele lens is very blurry to the point of useless if you were hoping for high detail. I find the optics in general fairly average and really fails if there's high contrast with auto basically blowing out bright areas to virtually zero detail, I have to use manual tuning to remediate and even then, it's difficult with the software's slider interface lacking incremental or manually entered values. I'm considering trying the RLC-823S2 PTZ camera but my experience with the limited and uncontrollable depth of field with the E1 Pro camera leaves me doubting it would be worth the effort to wire and review since I need objects at 5ft and 10ft+ to be in sharp focus simultaneously.
@cynthia_124785627824270 Please add the Trackmix WiFi and PoE to the Patrol Mode wish list, all PTZ cameras should have this. Considering it's already working with the MFC-823S1W in the app, this should be fairly easy. I'd have returned the Trackmix and bought a 823S1W for this function when I had the chance but prefer the silent servos on the Trackmix and hope it will be forthcoming.
Already returned a E1 Pro due to depth of field issues but it at least did have basic manual focus which would also be nice on the Trackmix which lacks it. Trackmix does have better depth of field although manual focus would be nice as well. I can still return the Trackmix and I agree it's strange to be missing Patrol mode on this particular PTZ camera. Tried searching through the store for the feature on another PTZ camera and found it on the RLC-823S1W, about $50 more. Shame they seem to be going with wall mount on the new cameras, I need a ceiling mount capability although it looks like this one offers it, but you have to buy it separately and with only one screw to secure, it seems prone to wabbling, great. The Trackmix can be mounted either on a wall or ceiling, no attachment necessary and it's solid. 823S1W reminds me of bit of my favorite Martian with the large wifi antennas. Hopefully the HOA will approve.Update: Reading reviews on the 823S1W, turns out it's PTZ motors are noisy which was another issue I experienced with the E1 Pro that in addition to Depth of field issues warranted a return. The Trackmix has near silent servos, as much as I'd like Patrol mode, I can see downgrading to just one camera with noisy servos as a win and very likely the noise would have me not wanting to use patrol mode. Really puzzling how they got it right with the trackmix and then totally screwed up on the newer models.
Really love how my video doorbell has an option to chime on person detection which is very handy for knowing when packages have been delivered. One problem I have however is sometimes deliveries will not be taken to the front door and left in front of my garage. This led me to invest in a Trackmix to monitor my driveway only to find the Trackmix does not have the option to configure a chime on person detection. I know I can configure emails, but the point is I'm not always monitoring a phone or on the PC and the chime is a preferred solution, I even have two to cover both living room & bedroom. Would love to see security cameras offered the ability to support Reolink Chimes.
