I set my RLC-511 camera on the eve of my house and leave it zoomed in on the end of my 300 foot driveway. Now I can see vehicles turning around in my driveway and coming up to the house. It would have been difficult to set a camera 300 feet from my house, the ZOOM works great.
There is still a possible way. You need to check and see how many pair wire the phone line is. If it is a 4 pair(8 wires) there is still a chance. Also you will need a power source for the camera at the guard shack to power the camera. You may have trouble with signal bleed in the old wire, there is no shielding in old phone lines. Since about the year 2001, I have been installing Cat 5 or 5e as phone lines, so you may still have a chance if the phone line is not too old.DSC03923.jpg
