I posted the above several days ago, and in the absence of answers I experimented myself to find the answersas follows:1) As far as I can tell, the only way to update firmware on cameras attached to an NVR is from the NVR itself. This means hooking up a monitor and a mouse to the physical NVR box and running the upgrades from there.2) Once I connected to the NVR, I was able to find the screen that listed all of the Channels. Along with that, all of the cameras, models, firmware, etc. was listed. I had to download the latest firmware (based on the model number of the cameras) from another computer onto a USB. There is a USB port on the NVR.3) There was both an HDMI and a VGA hookup on my NVR. I used HDMI with a regular monitor, and there was a mouse already attached.Final note, when I found the area to upgrade each of the cameras, there were two options: Upgrade online or Upgrade USB. When I tried to upgrade online it said "No updates available", even though the firmware was 18 months old. I ended up doing the USB upgrade to make it work. The final result is that I'm extremely happy I upgraded. The AI detection of Person and Vehicle is now much better for me!
Hello. I'm piecing together the answers to my questions from searching these forums, and some of the topics are quite old.Can I get verification of the following:1) If I am running an NVR, I can only upgrade NVR firmware from the phone client, PC client, or Web interface. I can not upgrade firmware for my individual cameras from any of those interfaces.2) I can not even see the firmware version of individual cameras unless I am connected directly to the NVR with a monitor?3) Since I did not install my cameras initially, am I right that I will find an HDMI hookup for a monitor and some kind of hookup for a mouse on the NVR itself?I am dreading the answers to this as my NVR is stuck in a narrow wiring closet and has been mounted to the wall. Any answers (good or bad) are appreciated.
