@roccojay12_464195931816139 Yeah, unfortunately I have the same issue and it seems weird. To me it seems a bit silly to have less usability by using Reolink's NVR. The functionality between Reolink cameras to Reolink NVR to Reolink Client, should be seamless. But it clearly isn't. Although we can zoom while directly accessing the NVR, we can't while accessing the NVR through the Reolink Client. It's like how if we are using the NVR we can't set the pan limits of the trackmix or the time it takes to return to the guard point after it stops tracking motion. Instead we need to disconnect the trackmix from the NVR and instead connect it directly to the network and then make the changes using the mobile app and then reconnect it back to the NVR. Should be more seamless. There's no reason I can imagine that would justify having different functionality with the various control methods, especially considering they are all capable of having their firmware updated and the client is capable of being updated.
5 years later and I am looking for the same solution you were. Quite frankly, I am surprised Reolink has not come out with a networked PTZ controller that works for all their PT & PTZ cameras. Especially since they are getting more into PTZ cams. The web/nvr/client/app interface for PTZ is clumsy. I think a PTZ controller would be a major boost and I am absolutely sure I'd be near the front of the line to get it.
I use the Argus Eco and the 510A PoE cams and it is an issue for me as well. If I try to create a timelapse with it outputted in video, the video almost always ends up corrupt. It will start to download and fail or download but is unplayable. The solution is to output it into images and then download the images and compile it into a video ourselves. Unfortunately, that means potentially 10s of thousands of clicks to select all the images taken over said period of time. Ideally there should be a select all images or zip all images to download them all with a few clicks. What I would like to be able to do is also treat the SD card as a network attached drive, that way the files can be browsed through windows explorer. That right there would be the solution to so many little things. I mean that can be too hard. My DSLR can be done that way, albeit through a USB. I can't imagine it would be that difficult. A firmware update and blam...
