It appears these options have been removed from the Web UI/App. The only explanation I can find relating to this is highly dubious, relating to compatibility issues between configurations from older firmwares (as a software engineer/architect this makes very little sense to me, there are countless solutions/workarounds).Having just had to reconfigure a PTZ camera after water ingress into connectors caused it to reset itself (*) I'm very disappointed by this decision. It's already a chore to have to set up a basic camera features particularly since the decision to disable the web GUI by default which adds a whole extra set of hoops to jump through (**). It's entirely another level to have to reconfigure PTZ presets, patrols, schedules etc.* Yes, yes, there are hardware solutions including but not limited to waterproof junction boxes for the cables, cutting off reset buttons etc but that's really not the topic/point of this post.** Not everyone uses Windows or Mac. The Mobile app doesn't expose some settings either. Again, not really the topic of this post.
@joseph_1979 Yes, I too normally do extensive research before purchasing (software engineer). This was a stupid assumption on my part, that since Amazon listing describes the RLC-510 as the 'upgraded' version of the RLC-410-5MP, that they were direct replacements with same FOV. I realised my mistake within a couple of hours and tried to cancel the order, but was told it was too late.
@joseph_1979 Thanks for that, it's very helpful. The RLC-81MA, matches the RLC-410 in vertical FOV and exceeds it in horizontal which would be perfect to replace the RLC-410 in most locations I'm using them now. It's also cheaper than the RLC-811A, by a small amount, so my budget will go a little further. Unfortunately it's not available yet in the UK.I guess I'll put this upgrade on hold while I wait for the RLC-81MA to launch here. Now I just need to return the unopened RLC-510 that I rashly bought before checking the FOV values.
I wanted to upgrade some old RLC-410 cameras with a newer set of cameras featuring Human detection at a minimum (animal detection would be even better). However I realised, almost too late, that none of the newer cameras have a field of view as good as the RLC-410 in the same form factor. The RLC-510 and RLC-810 both would introduce blind spots below the cameras due to their significantly reduced (by 14-16 degrees) vertical FOV.The current camera positions don't allow for dome or PTZ cameras to be used. The RLC-811A comes very close with a vertical FOV of 55 degrees, but it also includes a significant price jump because of a zoom feature I'd never use. Are there any other options I've missed?Cameras MUST be POE.
Is there any update on this? Flash is officially DEAD, as in no longer available from next year. Most browsers block flash by default and rightly so because it's a security nightmare.I've just bought two Reolink cameras (RLC-410, RLC-420) and had planned to buy more, particularly from the new 4K range when it's available, but I'm disappointed to discover that Flash is being used so I'm re-thinking that plan.
