Using the PC Client for Windows with a 16 channel NVR. What can I do to reduce the latency? I've lowered the FPS on all cameras to 10 and dropped the Max Bit Rate to 4096. The PC is pretty quick with plenty RAM. I have a GB LAN but my cameras are widely dispersed, so I use GB switches to connect the cameras to, and then to the NVR. Is this latency caused by the LAN connection on the NVR? Tech support seems pretty adamant that I use the 16 POE ports on the NVR. I can't do that in my network. It defeats the purpose of LAN connections. Should I consider mounting my NVRs closer to the cameras and using the POE ports on the NVR to connect them, and then connect to my LAN with the LAN port? Is the LAN port a gigabit port? What's wrong with using the LAN port on the NVR to connect the cameras via GB POE switches?
