Setting it up with IP address or DDNS instead of UID is a great workaround. While I don't have an official static IP address account with my ISP, it might as well be one because it hasn't changed in years. I just made sure to set up the port forwarding on my gateway/router to the correct local IP address for my NVR and I can now connect to it remotely.
I was updating the firmware on my RLN8-410 via USB to the latest version (ZIP filename RLN8-410_0823.zip uncompressed to => HI3535_NVR_8IP_REOLINK_L300_0823_4679_1708.6MP.pak), but the firmware upgrade process has been stuck for close to an hour. The NVR screen is frozen on the screen where it warns you not to power off the NVR until the upgrade has completed. All of the camera feeds visible in the background are frozen and the mouse pointer is stuck on the hourglass symbol. The mouse pointer responds to the mouse movement, but I can't click on anything.I don't know what to do other than powering the NVR down. I'm afraid that might brick it (more than it already seems to be). Any advice?
