This isn't going to happen. Wifi battery cameras can only use Reolink software.
No. The battery powered Wifi cameras can only be used with Reolink software. Full stop.
Sounds like your router doesn't handle QoS appropriately.
I have to disagree with the OP. Most people throw out the box, putting it on the box would allow anyone to scan it. Where it is currently located is the optimal location.[br][/br]The QR code is not the only way to add a camera to the app. The QR code is simply a visual representation of the UID string. When the camera was attached to your app you could have written down the UID code at any time by accessing the camera's information in the app. Also, the UID string is written directly below the QR code on the camera so you could have also written it down before mounting it. There were several opportunities for you to write down the UID code before the camera was deleted from the app.[br][/br]You have my sympathy that you are going to have to make such a long trip to re-add your camera to the app, but it could have easily been avoided. Reolink should not change how they currently implement the QR code or UID since any changes would make it easier for someone to compromise a given camera by obtaining its UID.
Battery cameras cannot continuously record. Full stop.
It would help if you would tell us which models you have
I thought you would want to know, from other pages on the website, under products, I can easily see the Argus 2E listed. However, from the main landing page for the website, the listing for the Argus 2E is missing. I figured that isn't how it was intended to be.
Which cable are you talking about?
I know on some models the motion detection can have zones masked, not sure if that is a universal feature of the battery cams or not.[br][/br]I know there is a Reolink app on the app store for Amazon Fire tablets, we were just discussing it in another thread here yesterday. I don't know if the Firestick can access the same app store or not (I'm not a user of the Fire line of products).
Yes, they do sell a black solar panel. However, there is currently a transition going on. They have basically stopped selling the current black solar panel (except for existing stock if you can get it somewhere) which is of an older design, but haven't yet started selling the new black solar panel, which is based on the exact same design as the white one. I believe they will start selling the new black solar panel soon since it has appeared in pictures on the website, but as to exactly when, we'd need someone from Reolink to chime in.
My best bet is that Reolink's implementation is not exactly standards compliant. I'll have to grab the raw stream and run it through an analysis for anything out of the ordinary.
Peppermint oil works, I have used it to keep elder bugs away. You just can't dilute it at all, if you do, it won't work.
I would imagine the beta client with also be optimized so it is able to function more efficiently on a larger variety of system configuations.
I actually know exactly which non-alphanumerical character you are talking about, and yes, there are actually two glyphs on the Samsung default keyboard that look nearly identical, but have completely different scan codes. The only reason I know this is that I have actually run into this exact same problem in a different context just a few weeks ago. It is horrifyingly frustrating. So, it's not you, Samsung just sucks at differentiating its glyphs properly.
It sounds like its not a matter of it not holding a charge, it sounds like its just straight dead.[br][/br]You need to contact support. You can get a hold of them through this page: https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/requests/new or support@reolink.com
Is your goal just to deter them, or kill them? Each one requires a different approach.[br][/br]Also, do the camera models you have work on motion detection or do they use PIR?[br][/br]The insight regarding the bullet cameras is interesting. I've never heard that before. Makes me curious what attracts them to it. So far, I haven't had any trouble with spiders bothering my PTZ type.
Since it isn't mentioned anywhere on the official Reolink client download site, I'm leaning towards "No". But, I guess we have to wait for a Reolink employee to chime in on this.
I second this, it would be a very helpful feature.
Why not just pass the raw stream then? Any particular reason to transcode it?[br][/br]Also, have you tried capturing the live transcoded video and analyzing it? Chances are there may be something about the 264 stream that is either unusual that prevents a successful transcode using default settings, or the transcoding process itself is causing a malformation of the data in some way that is preventing Homekit devices from understanding it.[br][/br]Also, if I'm not mistaken, the Reolink hardware utilizes some kind of "watchdog" which monitors the live stream and ensures that frames are delivered within a certain tight time constraint. If the stream breaks this time constraint, I believe the stream is dropped and then re-established. It's possible that the transcoding process is taking up just enough time to exceed this time constraint, causing the stream to drop.[br][/br]Just some ideas, I've just recently started working with the Reolink hardware myself, so I'm no expert.[br][/br]I'm all for finding a way to make it work with HomeKit. I know quite a few people that Reolink could pick up as customers if HomeKit compatibility could be established.[br][/br]As a side note, adorable cat.
