I have some RLC-410-5MP (PoE 5MP bullet cameras) with this problem. Programs like mpv, vlc, etc. would spam lots of errors.
Sometimes for days, it seems like it's perfectly fine video, just some errors in the log... but sometimes it has really garbagey output with rainbow colored artifacts, or parts of the screen shift around and back ... sometimes it's only terrible when it's in daytim mode. This was a huge problem for motion detection, having so many false positives that the signal to noise ratio on motion was near 0.
But... I tried RTMP instead, and it seems to work far better. The artifacts and shifting still happen, but much more rarely... like once a week instead of once a minute.
