@crimp-on_62210811129 I am wanting to record on motion 24/7.
I am in need of some more wired cameras that record to a PC hard drive via the Reolink Client for Windows. I have previously used the RLC-410 5MP cameras with much success and happiness. Will the RLC-510A do the same thing? This is the description from the Amazon page:
Nothing says PC hard drive via the client. It says that you can access things via the Client. I want it to record to the PC hard drive, rather than SD card, NAS, FTP or any other method. I'm a computer technician. I know that most people use their phones for nearly everything, or maybe have NAS storage devices, but I am old school. I have 5 PCs running all the time, and more when I am working on client's computers. I have monitors lined up everywhere. Will this camera work for me, or do I need to quickly buy all the RLC-410 5MP cameras that are available on eBay?Or do you have any old stock of the RLC-410 5MP cameras that you want to get rid of?
I previously posted a topic about the Argus Eco PIR not working on a camera, which I have deleted. I guess that I was wrong. The PIR does function, but it does not record video.Apparently this camera can only record to a SD card. Is that correct? It seems to work fine with the client on a PC, except that it does not accept the global setting in the client to record to the Hard Drive path that is specified. If I manually tell it to record from the client, it records to the correct path. If I manually take a screenshot, it saves it in the proper path on the hard drive. It will not record motion video to the PC hard drive.Must I put in a SD card and access the video via the playback function in the client, or is there a way for it to record on the hard drive of the computer?
It resolved itself for me too.I messed with it from 10 PM last night until 3:30 AM this morning. I rebooted the router and network switch, changed some cables, updated the Reolink Client, changed setting in the cameras, rebooted the cameras, and more. I wish I knew what caused it, and I wish I had that 5.5 hours of wasted time back.
@grimed I'm having the same issue. I'm not sure if it is the problem, but it appears to have started about the same time as a Windows Defender update. I've had another update since, but it did not improve.Edit: Client on Win 10Edit2: The Windows update was at 7:05 PM Central Time.
Thanks for the answers! I'm going to try to do it today.
Is there an easy way to move everything to a new computer and keep all current settings? Can I just install it on the new computer, and overwrite the new files with files from the old computer? If so, what files or directories do I need to move from the old computer?
