It would be very helpful to have more control in the playback interface. For example, it would be nice to be able to select a time range to focus on (ex. between 2:00 and 2:30). Additionally, it would be great to have a forward and reverse play option.

Here is an example of my struggles with the current solution. The time bar represents a full 24 hours in the day, so when I click on the time bar I can get "close" to my desire time period, but it isn't very accurate because it represents a full 24 hours. I then use the playback speed to accelerate playback. If I go past my desired event, I'm forced to click on the time bar again. It would be great if I could just play back in reverse.
