@user_721949733916897_721949733916897 After some experimentation and examination of lots of videos, I might have answered my own question. It looks like the timer icon filter in the playback options is also being used to label motion-triggered recordings which can best be described as "some type of small change was detected but it wasn't a really a motion type", such as the slight movement of leaves in the background or shadows changing as clouds pass over the sun. The use of a timer icon in this context is therefore somewhat misleading. It seems that the "Any Motion" category is used only for larger motion detections (e.g. partial people or partial animals moving in view) which cannot recognised as specific types. But at least the cameras are only detecting motion and are not sporadically turning themselves on in timer mode, which is what I wanted.
@joseph_1979 Hi, thanks for replying but I haven't got any continuous timer recordings set up, only motion-triggered ones. So I don't understand why I'm seeing any timer icons? I should see none at all if I only have Alarm events scheduled surely?
Hi, I have just bought an RLN8-410 with 4 cameras. I only want to record motion events so I have set up the Record Schedule as follows:
In Playback view on my computer client I am seeing videos with combinations of Any Motion and Person icons, which is expected. But many of the videos have a Timer icon also. Some videos only have a Timer icon? I don't understand why am I seeing any videos with Timer icons if I have disabled all the Timer squares in the scheduler? I think I may have misunderstood something here, can anyone help please?
